THE HYDRONIZING COMPLEX is a blend of ingredients designed to moisturize and lightly condition the hair. It includes Hydron, Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride (a moisture-holding polymer derived from guar gum), and Dimethicone Copolyol (which adds shine).

The Hydronizing Complex is smart: it knows where the hair shaft is damaged, so that's where it goes to work. The hair shaft is coated with a hard surface called the cuticle, which basically keeps hair from unraveling. When the cuticle gets weakened or damaged (from over cleaning, over styling, coloring and chemical trea®ents), it exposes the kerotin fibers inside the hair shaft. The hair shaft is actually composed of many strands of fibers around a hollow core. When these fibers are exposed, combing or brushing your hair can split them and cause further damage. Our Hydronizing Complex coats these damaged areas and protects the hair from splitting. This "coating" also makes hair easier to comb, and eliminates static and flyaway.

	WHAT DO THE PHOTOS OF THE HAIR SHAFT SHOW? The red stain in the photos is rubine red dye. It works in the same way dentists use red dye to show plaque on your teeth. In these photos, however, the red dye attaches itself to the moisturizing and conditioning agents in our shampoo (the Hydronizing Complex).
	The pictures show the same hair shaft(s) before and after washing with our shampoo, and rinsing with water. The red dye shows where the Hydronizing Complex has adhered to the damaged portions of the hair shaft. While the cleaning agents rinse out of hair and scalp completely, the Hydronizing Complex remains on the hair shaft.

Cleans Gently. A pH-balanced blend of cleansing agents gently removes dirt, excess oils and styling products without stripping and drying the hair. Over cleaned hair that is dry develops static electricity and is hard to comb. Our cleansing agents were selected for their effectiveness, good lathering, and easy rinsability.

Lightly Conditions. Hydron Botanical Volumizing Shampoo includes light conditioning agents that work only where damaged hair needs them. Hydrolyzed wheat protein (protein is an essential building component of healthy hair) and dimethicone (a silicone derivative) improve manageability and promote shine, without weighing hair down.

Volumizes, Moisturizes and Protects. A unique combination of vitamin-enriched moisturizing agents penetrate the hair to add 20% more volume and fullness, giving limp hair more body.

Botanical Volumizing Shampoo moisturizes with Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), Hydron, propylene glycol, aloe vera, and a natural polymer derived from guar gum. Its moisturizing formula also includes a sunscreen. Six botanical extracts in our shampoo also leave hair pleasantly fragranced: Comfrey, Yarrow, Elder Flowers, Fennel, Evening Primrose and Chamomile.
