Even casual UV exposure has a noticeable effect on your skin. Compare the skin on the inside of your forearm, to the skin on the top of your forearm. The inside of your forearm receives much less UV exposure over your lifetime. Notice how much softer and smoother then skin is here, than elsewhere on your arm.

To further fight the effect of free radicals, Facial Moisturizer also contains antioxidants, vitamins and enzymes. Antioxidants react with free radicals and neutralize them, so they can't harm healthy cells. We use Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C) and Superoxide Dismutase, an ingredient that occurs naturally in the skin.

Facial Moisturizer also uses two important types of moisturizing agents to soften and condition the skin: humectants (which hold moisture), and lipids (which help prevent moisture loss from occurring).

Many humectants lose their effectiveness when exposed to low humidity: indoor heating in a home or office, or dry climates common in the Western states. The dry air wants to rob skin of its moisture. Facial Moisturizer contains a humectant derived from sugar (Saccharide Isomerate) that holds moisture even at low humidity levels.

Facial Moisturizer also contains  lipids that help reduce moisture loss. These include: Sphingolipids -- a natural component of the skin's lipid barrier against moisture loss, which is broken down by soap and detergents; Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) -- which helps thicken the skin and improve its resiliency; Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B) -- which aids the skin's natural renewal process.

Facial Moisturizer is 100% oil free. In a daytime facial moisturizer, this assures fast absorption and no greasy afterfeel or makeup shine-through. It is also non-comedogenic (won't clog skin pores), and is dermatologist tested and approved.
